Jim Sipprelle sent Stoddard-Hamilton a fax about some spoiler bumps that he has tried on his landing gear half fork gear doors, to help keep them up at high speeds. See the illustration below.

He says the bumps work as far as keeping the gear up, however they may have slowed him down as much as 10 mph on his Glasair I RG.
