Kern Hendricks recently brought his kit to our Service Center for some help in completing it, and pointed out that during the construction of his fuselage, the dimension between the fuselage sides at the wing attach points to the main spar fittings were not well defined in the instruction manual. Because of the importance of this dimension, it should be checked and possibly a wooden support used during the belly panel seaming, to ensure that the dimension is maintained.
For Glasair II/II-S/Super II-S and Ill’s cut a support that is 41.25 inches long, and place it between the lower end of the 40-lb foam inserts where the fuselage main wing attach points are. Use hot glue to maintain its position.
