Glasair VH-KJX airborneBruce Kirkwood reported a successful first flight today of Glasair Super II kit #2465: “Nearly eleven years in to my four year project, VH-KJX finally became airborne on the 3rd of May at Maryborough, Queensland.

The engine is a 210hp Mattituck IO-390. Initial rate of climb on a 28°C day was around 1600fpm, while 70% power at 3000′ and 25°C gave me a TAS of 187 knots.

One very delightful aircraft and well worth the time, frustrations, cuss words and sweat that went with the building of it.”
