Closed Left Wing Panel
Got great help from a few retired aviators. Used an air caulking gun (the only way to go!). Prepped the right side for closing tomorrow. Even got Mom to help mix mill fiber. Picture 4 shows the clay and carbon paper I used to determine exact fitting of ribs and spar. Photo 5 shows the plastic and low residue tape we used to secure it. I recommend using long strips of poly tape instead (like the manual suggests). Even though we stapled the tape to the plastic, we still had 3 pieces that stayed in the tank and had to be removed with extra effort. Photo 6 shows the access panel area, bellcrank and Proprietary Systems AOA sensors. - Events, Glasair Super II, Wing

This is Gary Hunter, EAA technical counselor. Today was the first visit by Gary Hunter, an EAA technical counselor. He is very knowledgeable on composite construction and has an in-depth knowledge of many types of resins, cloths etc…- It was great to have Gary look over the construction and answer any questions that I had. I picked up some good tips that I can use in the future. The comments on his visit report said Good workmanship w/special attention to detail. This brought a smile to my face! The EAA technical counselor is great, thanks to people like Gary Hunter.

After demo flights in the RV-6, Lancair 360, and Glasair Super II at Oshkosh (Air Venture), Kurt and John seal the deal for a Super II by shaking hands with Bob Gavinsky. The demo flight was awesome with Jeff Wernli! Delivery should be in a few months...(Oct 98?).

Had a meeting of Winged Ambition. Wore our shirts that we had made at Oshkosh. Finalized the options list before sending the payment to Stoddard Hamilton. Dreamed we'd all be flying our plane in 3 years (ha!..ha!).

The Crowd At Orca Island
A line of Glasairs at the 1999 Arlington dinner fly-out. I must say that this outing was the most enjoyable afternoon of my recent memory. I flew in 902S with Bob Gavinski and Jeff Wernli took a Glasair III. We did a lot of low level fast flight and aerobatics along the way and just had the greatest time. If you ever make it to Arlington for the Fly-In do yourself a huge favor and make sure you participate in the Fly-Out. - Glasair, Events, Completed

Aurora Model At Sun N Fun 2000
This weekend at Sun N Fun I got a look at a model of the new 6-place Glasair-like plane that Stoddard-Hamilton is working on. The working name of this new plane is the Aurora, it has been refered to in the past months as Glasair 4 Glasair 6 and Phoenix... there is no firm name as yet and Stoddard-Hamilton welcomes name suggestions. - Glasair, Events
