GLASTAR LYCOMING O-320 INDUCTION SYSTEM
Engine induction air for Lycoming 0-320 engines in the GlaStar is supplied by a NACA scoop on the right-hand side of the lower cowling. Air is routed from the NACA scoop through a fiber9lass and aluminum induction housing to a two-piece fiber9lass air duct bolted to the carburetor. The NACA scoop is an integral part of the pre-molded induction housing, which also incorporates a replaceable filter element and a cockpit-actuated carburetor heat valve. The induction housing is coupled to the carburetor by a length of 3" diameter, double-wall Aeroduct hose.
Before beginning installation of the induction system, you should have completed the installation of the engine cowling, as described in the "GLASTAR LYCOMING COWLING INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS" (P/N 063-09009-01 ). The engine should be installed in its final position on the engine mount.
